Doula'd

Choosing to labor naturally gets mixed reviews - "AWESOME!", "Um, why on earth would you put yourself through that?!?", "You are amazing".

If baby and I were able to proceed through the process with health, then I was all for it - at 36 and again at 38. To have that experience is something I regard as one of the highest honors during my lifetime. And I did it twice!

If you live in the Los Angeles area and are looking for a doula I highly recommend my doula Shoshana Reiber. She asked me to say a few words about her. So I pleasantly did. And you can totally hear my newest son cooing in the video. Breastfeed and record a video on an iPhone 6S - so 2017!

PLANTING SEEDS FOR THE NEXT CYCLE

We are exiting the Jewish month of Elul, which means 'search'. It is an auspicious portal in time that bridges past + future. Elul is the final month before Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. It is customary to spend our days considering the past 12 months while also welcoming the new. It is a descent into the spiritual renewal of the world and the most fertile time for personal revival, connection + true healing. New wishes with new clarity.

Like babies preparing to be birthed, we are ALL hovering on the edge of something intentional, budding + of the flow. May we all be humbled in our understanding of relationships, our purpose and emerge into light + peace.

soul with structure

Danielle LaPorte's 2017 Desire Map Planner collection is out and into the world. I say this every year: I love my day planner. I’m love using this planner system.

Blessed with a F U L L life - an energetic toddler, a house remodel, a budding career and a baby expected in early December, I've learned to surrender to living life out of balance. We live in a culture that promotes balance - which I get. But the more I strived for balance, the more irritated I was. I found surrendering to an out-of-balance mentality served me with so much grace.

The planner offers me organization and design that works for super practical to the soulful moments that make up my schedule. I incorporates my soul and my to-do list; my gratitude and my goals; my deepest desires with my day-to-day.

How I plan my day is how I plan my life - with soul and structure.
